Fukuchiyama City, the Manufacturing Innovation Division of Panasonic Holdings Corporation and Panasonic Production Engineering Corporation (hereafter referred to as the Panasonic Group) have agreed and signed a collaboration agreement to promote SDGs initiatives and build a circular society through the development of school lunch tableware for 23 Fukuchiyama municipal elementary and junior high schools.

Panasonic Production Engineering Co., Ltd. has jointly developed the washroom and bathroom goods "Soap dispenser: Albero" and "Soap dish" with K-World-ism Co. (Headquarter : Osaka, Company President : Kenji Sawai), utilising "kinari"*1, a moulding material in which plant-derived cellulose fibres are mixed into the resin at a high concentration of 55%. The products will be launched by the K-World-ism Lindpark division in early May.

Panasonic Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Panasonic") has collaborated with ECOALF, a sustainable fashion brand developed by Sanyo Shokai Ltd (hereinafter referred to as "Sanyo Shokai"), to develop apparel wear buttons and cord locks using Panasonic's "kinari" cellulose fibre moulding material. The products will be used in jackets, trousers and storage packs for the ACT series, a Japan-only collection to be launched by ECOALF on 1 April.

The Manufacturing Innovation Division of Panasonic Corporation has developed a moulding material [2] with a biomass content [1] of 90% or more by applying the technology developed so far for mixing plant-derived cellulose fibres into resin in high concentrations to plant-derived resin (biopolyethylene). By adding a high concentration of cellulose fibres to soft biopolyethylene, we have succeeded in achieving strength equivalent to that of conventional kinari*1 and also in developing it as a white material.

Panasonic Production Engineering Corporation will start sample sales of KINARI*1, a moulding[1] material developed by the Manufacturing Innovation Division of Panasonic Corporation that contains a high concentration of 55% plant-derived cellulose fibre mixed with resin, from January 2022.

Panasonic Corporation, in collaboration with Asahi Breweries, Ltd, has developed the Panda Bamboo Tumbler, which utilises bamboo discarded by the pandas at Adventure World (Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture) .

Panasonic Corporation Manufacturing Innovation Headquarters has developed a composite processing technology that mixes plant-derived cellulose fibers into a resin at a high concentration of 70%, and molding technology that commercializes it.

Asahi Brewery Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, President: Kenichi Shiozawa) and Panasonic Co., Ltd. utilize the beverage container "Mori no Tumbler" that utilizes organic resources at high concentrations, and CO ₂ emissions in consumer behavior. We have also entered into a business alliance agreement with the common purpose of promoting the reduction of plastic waste and fostering a culture of reusing beverage containers.
